pt. 2 Explanations

(Author's Note: This part doesn't have as much action as the last one. More explaining done here)

Tom panted in fear and exhaustion while he crawled backwards on his rear and feet, staring up at the giantess that towered over him.  He couldn't see her clearly; however he could make out the outline of her body, tail, and cat like ears.  As she reached for him he backed until, to his dismay, a wall prevented him from retreating any further.  He could do nothing as the giantess picked him up and held him by his shirt in front of her face.  Licking her lips she proceeded to lifting him higher above her now wide open maw.

"No, please don't," Tom screamed as he struggled to get free.  She ignored his screams smiled then dropped him in.  "Noooo!!"

/////

Tom jerked awake. His sight was foggy and his breathing was fast and hoarse, but there was light meaning he was certainly alive or maybe somehow in heaven but he highly doubted later.  Rubbing his forehead he wiped off what felt like a gallon of sweat.  He tried to wipe it off on his clothes only to find they were just as damp as his forehead.  Shaking his hands in disgust to rid them of the liquid he proceeded to rub his eyes.

"It was just a dream," he thought calming down, his breathing slowly returning to normal.  "Just a crazy dream."

"What was a crazy dream," chimed a loud cheerful face.

Tom froze at the sound of it.  Slowly he removed his hands from his eyes.  His once foggy vision was now clear allowing him to see the giantess before him.  She was lying on her stomach on a green sofa, arms crossed behind her back, and her head was propped up by a pillow as she stared at him with a big happy smile.  Tom, who was sitting on the arm of the sofa, began backing up in fear, his breathing's pace quickening again.  Before he got very far the giantess quickly got up and held her hand behind him.

"Careful you might fall," she said with concern.

His breathing coming out in choked gasps, Tom felt his back touch the giantess' hand. It felt so warm… so soft… He almost wanted to just surrender himself to it; almost, but not quite. His brain still told him to run, to flee before he no longer had the chance, but Tom's legs wouldn't respond to the messages his brain was sending to them. They held him in place as they wobbled and shook.

"What's wrong little guy," she asked, noticing how his body shook and trembled, "There's nothing to be scared of little guy, I'm not gonna hurt you. You're my pet! I'm supposed to take good care of you, not harm you."

Shaking his head Tom tried to back away further, but her hand continued to prevent him from going any further. He didn't buy it! She had chased him and she was also the reason he was the size of a mouse now!

"I'm…. I'm not your pet!" Tom managed to shout, his voice cracking and coming out as squeaks, fitting his tiny size.

"Of course you are!" The giant cat-girl exclaimed, stroking his head with a finger. "You're a very good little human that doesn't deserve to be eaten or left for dead. Like all those mean ones that come here trying to harm my forest." She then let out an excited squeal. "It has been so long since I've had a pet! My last one wasn't a very good little human… He kept trying to run away from me after I shrunk him. Because of that he was eaten by a hunter's dog when its master came to hunt deer in my forest. That was nearly a hundred years ago…"

Tom eyes went wide. A hundred years? Just how old was this cat… girl… thing… whatever! She only looked to be twenty, maybe even younger than that. How could she have been alive for a hundred years? Gazing at her body, her giant, amazing body, he could only ponder just how another person as small as he was now, could even get away from something as giant as this girl.

Suddenly she wrapped her fingers around his body, causing Tom to squeak. Her grip was gentle, snug, but firm, letting only his head stick out. Tom didn't waste his time struggling, how could he escape something so massive? Gulping he saw she was lifting him up to her face. Was his nightmare about to come true? Was this the end?

Closing his eyes he whimpered as he waited for the end. He soon felt his head touch something that was even softer and warmer than her hand, yet, it wasn't wet? Opening his eyes he saw it was the giantess' cheek!

"Nya, this is a dream come true! I have wanted a new pet for such a long time and here you finally are! I'm never gonna let you go! Well, I might let you go so you can wash up soon," she giggled, holding him in front of her smiling face now. "You're reeeeeeally sweaty little guy."

Tom blinked, trying to figure things out. She was huge, yet didn't seem threatening. But she had shrunk him and was forcing him to be a pet. For some reason, though, he was actually starting to feel safe in her grasp; safer than he'd ever been with his so called parents. This cat-girl may have attacked him and shrunken him, but she seemed to really care about him from the way it sounded. She was gentle and kind, something he'd never seen from his family. Being a pet almost didn't sound so bad. Almost… he still didn't like being the size of a mouse.

"Who… who are you?" Tom finally asked, with much less stuttering and fear in his voice.

The cat-girl tilted her head to the left seeming to be a little confused, but joyful. "You seem a little less frightened now! Who am I? I'm the Forest Guardian!"

"Forest guardian?"

"Yep! I'm the guardian of this little forest! It's my job to protect it from mean humans that try to harm it and any wildlife inside it," she said proudly, standing up, still holding Tom close to her face in her fist.

"Alright, well, what's your name? What am I supposed to call you since you're making it sound like I am going to be with you for a long time."

"I'm Anlia. You can also call me master if you want. You're my brand new pet after all!"

Tom winced. Being called a pet again was a serious hit on his pride, but then again, why would pride matter at this point? He was four inches tall and the captive of some cat-girl giant named Anlia. No one besides her was really going to see him so who would be there to laugh at him?

"Well, A-Anlia, I'm Tom your new…. pet… I guess."

Anlia awed, rubbing Tom against her soft cheek again. "Aww… such a cute name for my cute little pet. I'm going to make sure you never get away from me or get hurt! Never ever! You have no idea what it is like living alone for over a hundred years waiting for a new pet to keep you company."

Pain suddenly filled Tom's heart. He did know what it was like being all alone. He may have had others around him his whole life, but he was an outcast among them. His parents didn't love him and other kids saw him as a nobody.  Never had one person ever truly cared about him in the world. Maybe Anlia wouldn't be so bad. Sure he was tiny, but she said she'd protect him. Hey, if it meant not having to go back home to that hell ridden house he was willing to give this pet thing a shot.  It would have to be done in baby steps of course.

"Yeah… that is sad. Hey, is there some way you can, ya know, make me my normal size again? Being this small is a little scary," Tom asked, it was worth a shot after all, but he already knew what her answer would be.

"Nope! I'm sorry little guy but I cannot do that as you may run away from me. The last thing I need is even more hunters coming into my forest because my so called pet ran away and told them about me." Her face softened and she set Tom down on her shoulder. "I know it's going to be hard for you to adjust to your tiny new life my little Tommy, but be assured I'm going to be a good master and keep you nice and safe."

Tom sighed. He knew that would be her answer. He supposed he shouldn't complain; after all, he now had a really beautiful girl looking after him.

"Well, what are you going to do with me now?" Tom asked, curious as to what her answer would be.

"I'm hungry!" She exclaimed, licking her lips.

Tom winced, fearing the worst.

"Let's go get something to eat, and then get you a bath." Anlia giggled, pinching her nose, while Tom let out a great sigh of relief. "My nose is much more sensitive than your little human nose. Pew, why must you sweat so much? I can run a mile and only have a few beads of sweat roll down my face, yet you're drenched and all you have done is sleep, talk, and shake!" With that Anlia walked outside through the front door. Door wasn't the best word, though, for there was no door, just an opening where it should have been.

Little Tom held on tightly to her shoulder. It was a long way down to the forest floor for him. Had he not been so scared he would have been amazed at the sights and sounds of the world around him. Sun glistened down through the numerous giant pines and oak trees lighting the canopy below. Grass layered the ground everywhere while flowers of many kinds blossomed here and there, adding to beauty. Forest critters roamed about. Some peered at the two, but none of them attack or fled from them.

Suddenly a hawk landed on Anlia's shoulder beside Tom, causing him to yelp and hug Anlia's neck for protection. The hawk may not have been as big as his giantess, but it was still bigger than him, and he knew what hawks ate for food; small creatures like him! Surprisingly, though, the hawk paid no attention to him. Instead he pecked at Anlia's cheek, making the giantess laugh.

"Stop it Tailo! You're tickling me you mean bird!" Anlia laughed, poking at 'Tailo's' beak. "You're a very naughty bird, Tailo. Just look at what you have done. My pet is now terrified again and I just managed to calm him down a little."

Tailo's big black eyes blinked and then the bird looked down at Tom, making the tiny human hug onto Anlia's neck tighter.

"Cawww!" The bird seemed both intrigued and annoyed by Tom's presence, clacking its beak at him in an angry manner. It took all of Tom's courage and brain power to not jump off Anlia's shoulder.

"Nuuu… bad Tailo! Stop picking on my new little pet! He's a good human, that's why he is my pet." Anlia explained, pushing Tailo off of Tom. "I know you're mad about humans shooting your mother, Tailo, but Tom isn't the one that did it, nor are you to place the blame on him for it, understand?"

The bird glowered at Tom for a few more minutes until it finally nodded, flying off of Anlia's shoulder into the trees above.

"Wh-why didn't it try to eat m-me?" Tom asked, bewilderedat what had just occurred, loosening his grip on Anlia's neck.

"Hmm? Because, Tailo is a very good birdy. You could call HIM another one of my pets. He likes pecking at my cheek in playful manners."

"But what about your previous pet? You said he was a eaten by a dog? What makes Tailo different?"

"That dog," Anlia growled, "Was not a creature that had lived its life in my forest. It did not know of my laws or rules. You see, I am not only the protector of this place, but to the animals, I am also kind of the queen. The animals that live here know who I am and what I do for them, so they know to not harm me and to trust me.  They also know that you are my pet. They know not only because you're tiny, but also because I gave you a big lick over last night and they recognize my scent on you. If you were to come across a, oh, let's say a fox that has lived in my forest since the beginning of its life, it would not attack you. It may play with you, but more than likely it will return you to me, knowing that you are mine. If you came across a hunter's dog that has never lived in my forest, or even seen me, it will see you as food, as prey, and gobble you up. Understand, Tom?"

Tom still seemed confused. He was trying to work all the information she was giving him in his head. "So, as long as it is an animal that has lived in your forest, then I am safe from harm?"

"Exactly. Well, I wouldn't say completely safe. Most insects have hive minds, so they may or may not attack you. Of course they're bugs, not animals! Also, as I said before, some animals may play with you, so be prepared to get a little roughed up around the edges. They know not to be too violent, though, so don't worry."

To Tom that didn't seem so bad. When he had first been shrunk one of his biggest worries was being caught and eaten by an animal. They were animals after all.

"So…uhh… bath time, right?" Tom said, getting back to what Anlia originally came out here to do.

"Yes! That conversation was pretty distracting! It actually got me to forget about how much you stink my little tiny pet. Let's see…which way to the pond?" Anlia mumbled, looking around. "Now I remember! We need to go this way." She shouted with glee, walking to her left.

Left proved to be correct as they came to a small little pond. The water looked murky towards the bottom, but the surface was clear. A few blue jays on the opposite end were cleaning themselves, chirping a merry tune. Seeing Anlia sit down on the bank opposite bank they flew to her and landed on her should. Only one landed by Tom and it stared at him with much curiosity.

The shrunken human gulped, backing as close to Anlia's neck as he could. The bird wasn't that big; heck if he stood up they'd be about the same height. Still, seeing a blue jay that used to be able to fit in his palm, now at the same height was frightening. Getting used to this new life would be a great challenge for him.

"H-Hi?" Tom said with a weak voice, reaching his hand out to touch the bird's chest cautiously. The bird let out a loud chirp before it pecked his hand, not painfully, but hard enough to make time squeak and retract his hand.

"Haha! That was just adorable!" Anlia laughed, stroking Tom's head. "You don't have to worry Tom; she's just playing with you. But playtime is over little birdies, I need to give this stinky little pet a bath."

Right as she finished the birds chirped their merry tune once more as they flew off into the trees.

"Now then, let's get stinky little you in the water!" Anlia giggled, plucking Tom up by the neck of his shirt and setting him in the shallows where the water came up to his neck. "And don't worry about any fish grabbing you, they're very nice, though, their method of returning you to me may scare you a little, so still to the shallows."

Tom nodded, obeying her orders. He could tell it was going to be a rough day.

///

Shortly after Tom's bath, Anlia was once again walking around, giving him a tour of the area. The shrunken human was lying on his stomach, on cat-girl's head.  Lying on her silky blonde hair made it feel like he was lying on the greatest bed ever made. Anlia was currently taking him to the next destination she had in store for her 'tour.' He had a few more questions, and now seemed like a good time to ask them.

"So, Anlia, how is there a house here? You know… the one you live in?" Tom asked, curious. If any humans that entered were eaten, made into slaves, or turned into pets, then how could there be a house in her forest?

"Hmm… quite easily actually," she said in deep thought. "I believe it was sometime around when I lost my previous pet that it got there. It is very old, I'm guessing you didn't get a very good look at it? It is really worn down. I got it in here by using the same thing that made you small. It just took a looooot more saliva to do it. Men were trying to build a house near my forest and they saw a bear. Well, they ALL decided to chase in after it screaming, "Kill the bear!" Like a bunch of idiots! Really it was just a sweet momma bear that was tending to her cubs! So mean… Anyways, once I got rid of them I notice the leftover house they had almost completed and decided, I wanted it! Trust me, sleeping outside in the winter time is very hard for me! I would say US, but I have plenty of ways to keep you warm just by holding you, Tom. The nice thing about the house was that it had a couple mattresses, pillows, tables, and even a couch inside! I was disappointed to not find any blankets, though, so the winters are still a little cold for me."

Tom nodded, deciding it to be best not to question her about it. Scratching his head he tried to think of another question that didn't make much sense. One quickly came to mind.

"Also, if you have lived here your whole life then how do you know English? I mean, how can you speak the same language that I am speaking?"

Anlia suddenly stopped walking, staring straight forward. She seemed uncertain, wary. It was as if the question had caused her whole brain to lock up. Then she started walking again.

"I don't really know, so I can't answer you my tiny pet. Maybe it will come to me later."

Tom frowned, she was avoiding the subject, but since she was his master he decided to let it go. Best not to anger the giant being that was taking care of him.

"Nya," Anlia mewled as she stopped in front of her home, "And that concludes our tour, any questions little guy?" She asked, smiling up at him.

Tom looked down at her face from atop her head. He had an infinite amount of questions that he wanted answers to. Almost all of them had to do with Anlia whether they were about something that didn't make sense or more personal questions. He wanted to ask them, but his head slowly shook back and forth. His mind needed a break after the huge load of thinking that had been thrust upon him today.

"No… I don't have any questions, master."

Anlia, still smiling, nodded slowly to make sure he remained on her head and walked into her home to take a break.
After 1 year, 4 months, and 3 days... I have finally gotten the inspiration to finish this part! To me... this is pathetic... should never have taken this long, but, nonetheless, it is done! I also noticed I am waaayyy over a 1,000 page views and was like... I need to get this done... So... I guess this is kind of a gift? I dunno... I'll have to do an actual one later.

Leave a comment pretty please, it will be much obliged.

Part 3 will hopefully have a little more action and fun then this one.

(And I promise not to take so dang long this time.... -_-)
